1. Legal Entity & Binding Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute a valid, binding agreement between you ("User", "Applicant", "Student", or "Parent/Guardian") and Gauteng Central College (Pty) Ltd ("GCC", "the Institution"), a private company duly incorporated under the laws of South Africa (Enterprise No: M2010016709; CIPC Reg: 2010/016709/07), having its registered principal place of business at 391 Pretorius Street, Pretoria CBD, 0001.
If you do not agree to these terms in their entirety, you must not use this website, submit digital application forms, or proceed with academic registration.
2. Website & Portal Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use our website, online admissions portal, and student tracking desks solely for lawful educational purposes. You expressly agree that you will not:
- Submit false, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading personal or academic information;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with another student, guardian, or institution;
- Attempt to probe, scan, or breach system security, sandbox boundaries, or API authentication controls;
- Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, or malicious scripts designed to damage or hijack institutional operations;
- Engage in automated scraping or harvesting of data without prior written authorization from GCC.
GCC reserves the unilateral right to suspend or permanently revoke portal access for any user violating these terms.
3. Digital Admissions, Credentials & Verification
Submitting an online application through apply.html does not guarantee automatic admission or registration. Admission is strictly subject to:
- Verification of entry qualifications meeting statutory Department of Basic Education (DBE), DHET, or QCTO prerequisite levels;
- Availability of classroom desks, practical workshop capacity, and academic intake quotas;
- Receipt of verified certified copies of South African ID/passport, previous academic transcripts, and guardian documentation.
Submission of forged or altered matriculation certificates, national Senior Certificate statements, fake NATED certificates, or falsified report cards will result in **immediate, non-refundable cancellation of the application/enrolment**, blacklisting from future intakes, and mandatory reporting to the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the South African Police Service (SAPS).
4. Tuition Fees, Payment Schedules & Bursaries
The financial regulations of Gauteng Central College ensure high educational quality, modern workshops, and qualified teaching staff:
- Tuition Fee Obligation: Upon signing an enrolment contract or confirming acceptance, the student and signatory parent/guardian become jointly and severally liable for the total prescribed course tuition fees for the academic cycle;
- Payment Options: Fees may be settled via full annual payment (qualifying for early settlement discounts) or structured interest-free monthly instalments payable on or before the first calendar day of each month;
- Default & Arrears: Failure to settle monthly instalments by the due date may result in suspension of online student portal access, withholding of academic term reports, and restriction from sitting institutional trial examinations;
- Examination Entry Fees: Departmental National Examination registration fees (DHET NATED exams, QCTO external integrated summative assessments, Umalusi matric exams) are statutory charges that must be fully settled prior to national registration closing dates;
- Bursary & Tuition Relief Allocations: GCC Study Bursaries and fee relief awards are applied directly as credits against the student's tuition ledger. Bursaries have no cash surrender value and are contingent upon continuous satisfactory attendance (minimum 80%) and academic pass rates.
5. Cancellation, Withdrawal & Refund Policy
In compliance with the Consumer Protection Act No. 68 of 2008 (CPA):
- Cooling-Off Period: If an enrolment agreement was initiated through direct electronic marketing, the applicant holds a statutory right to cancel the agreement without penalty within 5 (five) business days of execution;
- Registration Fees: Non-refundable administrative registration fees cover initial admissions vetting, student file creation, Noltec registry entry, and educational material acquisition;
- Withdrawal Notice: Any registered student seeking to withdraw from an academic programme must provide 30 (thirty) calendar days' written notice to the Campus Manager. The student/guardian remains liable for proportional pro-rata tuition fees incurred up to the formal date of withdrawal, plus a reasonable administrative cancellation charge permitted under Section 17 of the CPA;
- Expulsion: A student expelled from the Institution following a formal disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct forfeits all claims to tuition fee refunds.
6. Academic Attendance, Examinations & Progression
- Minimum Attendance Threshold: Students in all academic divisions must maintain a minimum attendance rate of 80% across lectures, practical workshop sessions, and laboratory modules. Failure to satisfy attendance minimums will result in de-registration from national examination sittings;
- Continuous Assessment: Learner progress is evaluated through continuous internal assessments, formative tasks, assignments, and mock examinations;
- National Certification: National N-Diplomas and Occupational Certificates are conferred exclusively by the national quality councils (DHET, QCTO, Umalusi). GCC does not issue independent degrees; it provides accredited tuition, formative assessment, and examination centre administration.
7. Student Code of Conduct & Campus Discipline
Every learner registered at Gauteng Central College is expected to exhibit discipline, academic focus, and mutual respect. The following conduct constitutes severe misconduct subject to immediate suspension and disciplinary hearing:
- Possession, consumption, or distribution of alcohol, illicit substances, or unprescribed narcotics on campus premises;
- Possession of firearms, knives, or dangerous weapons of any description;
- Assault, bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, hate speech, or intimidation directed at students, educators, or staff;
- Vandalism, theft, or deliberate damage to college equipment, laboratory machinery, or campus infrastructure;
- Cheating, unauthorized materials, or academic dishonesty in tests and national examinations.
8. Intellectual Property & Educational Materials
All content published on this website and distributed through GCC classrooms—including logos, crests, brand design, lecture slides, study guides, formative workbooks, video materials, and technical curriculum frameworks—is the proprietary intellectual property of Gauteng Central College (Pty) Ltd or its accredited licensing partners.
No portion of institutional materials may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, broadcast, or sold without express prior written consent from the Board of Directors.
9. Limitation of Liability & Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law:
- Gauteng Central College, its directors, educators, and administrative personnel shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from website downtime, technical interruptions, or postal delays;
- While GCC maintains physical campus security measures, the Institution accepts no liability for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property (laptops, mobile devices, cash, or vehicles) brought onto campus premises;
- Parents, guardians, and adult learners agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gauteng Central College against reasonable injuries or medical events occurring during practical workshop modules or educational excursions, provided the Institution was not guilty of gross negligence.
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, your digital enrolment contract, and any dispute arising therefrom shall be governed, construed, and enforced exclusively in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
You irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Magistrates' Court or the High Court of South Africa (Gauteng Division, Pretoria) for any dispute, litigation, or debt recovery proceedings instituted by or against the Institution.
